Welcome! Yahya teaches spiritual development and Sufism in Austin, TX and outside the state as well. He is also available for private consultation and healing sessions. Yahya is a Muqaddam in the the Shadhiliyya Order of Sufism, meaning that he is a representative of the sheikh, has the permission and authority to trasmit the Sufi teaching, and can initiate students. The Shadhiliyya Order is a well-preserved school of Sufism dedicated to helping one reach the experience of one's true self within, and to developing leaders who will improve our world. Yahya's spiritual Guide, Sidi al-Jamal ar-Rifa'i as-Shadhuli of Jerusalem, has been working hard for over forty years to bring peace to the world and to develop his students into those who can carry the true message of Sufism to others. The mission of the sheikh is to see the flag of peace, love, mercy, justice and freedom flying over every home, to help the poor of the world, and to reveal the teachings of Sufism in order to facilitate spiritual mastery.
Yahya has a B.A. in History and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, where he focused on Islamic and Sufi studies. He has been a student under Sheikh Jamal and Sidi Ibrahim for over 10 years, including a 5-year period of intensive study in spiritual community. Previously, Yahya studied Hinduism and Bhuddism, and spent time in Peru, Mexico, and North America learning indigenous spiritual traditions. Yahya teaches at the University of Spiritual Healing and Sufism in California, and maintains a private healing practice in Austin, TX.
